Prevalje
The history of Prevalje is the history of ironworking, as the local ironworks remained the strongest in this part of Europe until its closure. The municipality prides itself on its rich cultural heritage: Roman stones discovered in Zagrad, two beautiful Gothic churches above Leše, and the Štopar Bridge, an exceptional technical monument.
You will be impressed by a visit to the tourist village of Šentanel, which spreads picturesquely over the hillsides of Strojna with its scattered farms, most of which welcome guests seeking authentic homemade food and drinks. Beneath the settlement, you can also find the over 150-year-old Polhov Mill.
In Jamnica, farm tourism continues, but thanks to its natural features, it takes on a more sporting character. Here you will find a single trail park that attracts mountain bikers from all over the world. Jamnica has even hosted the Enduro World Championship races twice.
In the very centre of the town lies the Prevalje Climbing Centre – the most modern facility of its kind in Slovenia. Inside, you’ll find more than 200 different routes, over 1,800 m² of climbing surfaces, and walls up to 18 metres high. With the help of guides, everyone can experience the beauty of climbing.
