Kope Ski Resort

The Kope mountain ski resort is situated on the far western side and highest part of the Pohorje above Slovenj Gradec, and is the central ski resort of the Koroška region. The area has excellent conditions for winter tourism thanks to the unique topography of the Pohorje with its vast plains, cultivated clearings, low dwarf pines, easily manageable gentle slopes, favourable ground conditions and a long ski season. 

The ski resort is composed of more than 8 km of ski slopes that are connected by 2 four-seat chairlifts and 6 ski lifts. The longest ski run has a 500m difference in altitude. The diverse terrain offers ski slopes suitable for learning how to ski as well as for more experienced skiers and top ski competitions. There is also a snowboarding area next to the ski slopes, and experienced ski and snowboard instructors make learning the basics or upgrading your knowledge of skiing or snowboarding a fun and exciting time.   

There are 15 km of picturesque tracks for walkers and cross-country skiers leading across the plains from Grmovškov dom hut to Ribniška koča hut, offering a unforgettable views of Mt. Peca and the Savinja Alps. Accommodation is available in the direct vicinity of the ski slopes, a few steps from the ski lifts. In addition to the wide range of sports activities, in winter Kope is also known as the centre of entertainment in Koroška.
