Forma Viva is the most important modern open-air
sculpture collection in Koroška. It comprises 28 sculptures, set in the urban
environment of Ravne na Koroškem, Prevalje, Mežica, and Črna na Koroškem, and
can be visited at any time.
In 1994, the oldest preserved buildings in the area
of the Ravne Steelworks factory were declared cultural monuments, and donated
to the Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem in 2002. The preserved buildings
comprised a swaging forge, an administrative and residential building, as well
as a laboratory.
The collection displays the development of
ironworks and steelworks in Koroška from their beginnings at the end of the
16th century onwards.
The Mežica Lead and Zinc Mine is one of the oldest
mines in this part of Europe. It is part of the Geopark Karavanke, a
cross-border geopark, and as such a member of the European Geoparks Network
(EGN) as well as the Global Geoparks Network (GGN), assisted by UNESCO.
In front of the old mineshaft in the town square of
Črna na Koroškem, some mining machines and equipment are displayed in a rock.
The Franciscus Tunnel is located between Prevalje
and Leše and is the only preserved entrance to the former Leše Coal Mine.
The hammer collection on display on the ground
floor of the Radlje ob Dravi Manor is only a small part of the extensive
collection of 2,500 objects and over 3,400 books accumulated by Ferdinand
Leitinger, an amateur collector from Radlje ob Dravi.
