THE PRICE OF FREEDOM: THE END OF WORLD WAR II IN KOROŠKA

The Poljana Memorial Park, near Prevalje, is where the horrors of World War II in Europe ended. A permanent exhibition is on display at the park, depicting the events of the European and Yugoslav battlefields from the Srem front breakthrough in the middle of April 1945 until the end of the war.

Special attention is paid to individual larger battlefields in Koroška, as well as to the retreating fascist enemies. Most of these died in post-war executions near Maribor and on the Maribor Pohorje Hills.
