The mountain resort Kope is located on the westernmost and highest part of the Pohorje range above Slovenj Gradec and represents the central ski and recreation area of the Koroška region. Today, Kope offers more than 12 km of well-maintained ski slopes connected by 4 chairlifts and 3 additional lifts. The slopes are diverse, suitable both for beginners and for demanding skiers. Kope is also known for having the largest night skiing area in Slovenia and for its wide range of winter and summer activities.

Thanks to the distinctive terrain of Pohorje, its vast plateaus, and favourable snow conditions, Kope provides excellent conditions for skiing and ski instruction. In recent years, the infrastructure has been thoroughly modernised: the completely renovated Grmovškov dom has reopened, ski slopes have been expanded, two new four-seater chairlifts have been added, and the lift facilities upgraded. In December, the new Hotel Panorama Kope 4* will open, and in 2026 the offer will be further expanded with a new wellness complex.

During the winter months, Kope is also the centre of entertainment and après-ski on Koroška, offering music events, themed evenings, and a rich culinary experience.

In summer, Kope transforms into a popular active mountain destination featuring the Kope Bike Park, hiking and cycling trails, an adrenaline park, the treetop walk, programmes for children, various events, and an RV stopover (PZA). Visitors can choose from numerous activities, culinary experiences, and outdoor adventures.

The labyrinth of forest roads and cart tracks leads you up and down the mountain, into the valleys and between them. Among the forests and meadows with their wonderful views there are regulated paths intended for extreme or more recreational cycling. They are best tackled with “all-mountain” or “enduro” bikes.

Drava cycling route

Drava Cycling Route is considered as one of the most beautiful cycling routes in Europe due to its natural splendours and cultural diversity. The 510-km route stretches from the source of the Drava River in Toblach, Italy, crosses Austria to Slovenia and runs further on to Croatia where it terminates at the confluence of the Mura and Drava Rivers next to Legrad.
