Mežica Mežica is a town where miners have been searching for metals and minerals since Roman times, a true alpine and mining tourism centre of the Mežica Valley. In the surroundings of Mežica, you will find numerous well-maintained hiking trails, tourist farms, and mountain huts. Today, beneath Mount Peca, a former mine has been transformed into a tourist attraction where you can experience the work of miners on a guided train tour that takes you into the heart of Peca. For the more active, a cycling tour in Peca Underground: Tourist Mine and Museum is available, where you ride through the tunnels on mountain bikes. The most attractive 5* adventure offered in the tourist mine is the kayak experience, where more than 700 metres below the surface you embark on a unique journey through the underground tunnels. These activities are available year-round, regardless of the weather. Ride the legendary Black Hole Trail – one of the world’s most unique biking experiences.
