Dravograd
At the crossroads of three valleys, where three Koroška rivers meet, lies the first Slovenian municipality on the Drava River – Dravograd. Surrounded by green forested hills between the mountain ranges of Kozjak, Strojna, and Pohorje, it stands at a place where old and new paths have intersected since Roman times and the era of pilgrims. Let yourself be captivated by the Drava River, under whose surface a unique mineral – Dravit – can be found.
The Dravograd Lake is an ornithological reserve that provides shelter for more than 150 species of birds, and with its themed trails, it offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching. Along the paths, keen fishermen can also find piers where they can try to catch their latest trophy.
The completely renovated Bukovje Manor offers the possibility of accommodation and hosting large celebrations, where you can truly feel like a noble. Stroll through the castle garden, explore the chambers that once hosted the Counts of Kometter and are today part of the museum collection.
Libeliče is a settlement right on the Austrian border, with a beautifully preserved old village core. In addition to the famous 12th-century ossuary, you will also find here a black kitchen – the cradle of Koroška cuisine – and a rustic collection showcasing life and work in the past.
Dravograd is also the crossroads of two of the region’s most important cycling adventures – where Drava Bike meets Štrekna. With many intermodal transport options for your bike, including bus and train services, exploring the surrounding areas is easy and convenient.
