Dom na Peci Hut, Črna na Koroškem
Dom na Peci stands on a sunny clearing at an altitude of 1,665 metres, just below the peak of Peca, the highest mountain in Koroška. Since Peca is one of the most easily accessible twothousanders year-round, the mountain hut is a popular stop for many hikers. In summer, it is an ideal destination for families, who can not only visit the hut and the summit of Peca but also explore King Matjaž's cave, located just a few hundred metres from the hut, or hike to Mala Peca. The easy trail to the summit is perfect for beginners, while more experienced mountaineers can challenge themselves with demanding alpine routes on Peca’s northern face. Dom na Peci is easily accessible from Mežica or Črna na Koroškem, with the Jakobe car park serving as the best starting point. From there, it takes 45 minutes of moderate hiking to reach the hut, and an additional 1.5 hours to reach the summit. The recently renovated Dom na Peci offers accommodation for groups and individuals, as well as a variety of homemade traditional dishes. A must-try speciality is the Koroška’s kvočevi nudlni, a delicious regional dessert.
