Kope ski resort
The Kope Mountain and Tourism Centre lies in the farthest western part and the highest part of Pohorje above Slovenj Gradec, representing the central skiing and recreational centre of the Koroška region.
Besides the diverse sports on offer, the Kope slopes are famous for being the centre of entertainment in the Koroška region during the winter months.
Due to the specific relief of Pohorje with its vast flatlands, cultivated meadows, low dwarf pines, suitably-tilted slopes, incredibly favourable ground conditions and above-average durable snow coverage, the Kope slopes provide the best conditions for learning how to ski as well as for skiing experts.
The ski resort comprises more than 8 kilometres of regulated ski runs, connected by two 4-person ski lifts and six tows. The longest run has 500 metres of altitude difference. The diverse terrain offers slopes for learning how to ski as well as something for the skilled skiers and high-level competitions. The snowboarding course is set up next to the slope. In the ski and snowboarding school, licensed trainers will make sure to keep you entertained on the slope and that you learn the basics safely and quickly, or upgrade your knowledge of skiing and snowboarding.
Those of you who enjoy hiking and cross-country skiing can experience 15 kilometres of picturesque and regulated hiking trails, set up on the plains leading from the Grmovškov Dom cabin to the Ribniška Koča cabin, which offer unforgettable views of Mount Peca and the Savinja Alps. Accommodation is provided in the facilities next to the slope, only a few steps from the entry ski-lift stations. Besides the diverse sports on offer, the Kope slopes are famous for being the centre of entertainment in the Koroška region during the winter months.
